Llanos Carol Service
The Llanos Carol Service was held at our local Renfe building, as last year with 150 we didn't have enough room and not enough chairs. But with close on 200 joining the celebrations from within the community, we were still short of chairs! It was such a joyful service, with John acting as a splendid MC. Father Alan presented the Christmas story, and gave a warm and very engaging address, remembering those for whom Christmas does not necessarily have happy memories. He urged us all to share our Christmas with others, even strangers who could become new friends.
Llanos choir sang While Shepherds Watched their Flocks unaccompanied and we were thrilled to have, not only our own Kath supporting the music, but 9 members of the fantastic Cariattiz Orchestra. It was truly a wonderful start to the Christmas celebration with our beautiful Crib, complete with straw and baby, made by Dudley, centre of the worship, candle lit and guarded by an enormous lamb.
Dawn and Pauline did such an amazing job serving mulled wine or fruit juice, shortbread and minced pies to an appreciative group of carol singers.
Wonderful evening, thank you all for your hard work."
