At the conclusion of the service Father Alan was presented with gifts and cards as a token of the congregations' appreciation and good wishes. Following the service a bring and share lunch was provided for all who attended followed by cutting of the cake and toasting him with champagne. Our thanks go to all who provided food and contributed in any way to mark Father Alan's great milestone in his ministry.

Father Alan was born and grew up in Portsmouth where he went to school. He attended two theological colleges to qualify as a Priest. Following this his first parish was in the Isle of Wight. On retirement he moved to Spain and has been of great service to the Chaplaincy, where he is much loved
