Aljambra Harvest Festival
Today was a very special day in the life of the Chapel at Aljambra. Because it is being closed for refurbishment and the services of the Aljambra congregation are to be held in the Chapel at Cantoria next to the Tanatorio, the Harvest Festival was brought forward a week so that this could take place in our usual place of worship. Almost 30 attended the Eucharist Service of Thanksgiving which was followed by a Bring and Share lunch. The tables were groaning as usual with all kinds of good food and to hold with tradition some fruit was offered to some of the workmen who had gathered outside and who were anxious to get started their tasks but were holding back to allow our service and meal to proceed No one knows how long it will be before the services are back in Aljambra but today's service, sad as it was, proved that new seeds will be sown for the future of our Christian witness in the Almanzora Valley.
