Llanos Fun Day
Saturday 21st September saw Llanos church the centre of a community day of fun, live music and games for all ages. Our Mayor, Luis Daiz, opened the day and received a donation of €110 for a local cause, collected by the church from the collection of "brown coins".
The music was started by local DJ John Alexander and throughout the afternoon the 100 or so who came enjoyed, jazz, pop, musicals, country, swing and beautiful instrumentals from members of the Cariatiz Orchestra. It was great, with dancing and much singing along!
We also enjoyed first class burgers from the BBQ and drinks from the bar, and watched as members of the ministry team got a thorough soaking as people paid to chuck wet sponges at them! There was tombola, Play Your Cards Right, Bash the Rat, and many others including a children's table with bubbles for the blowing. The cake competition saw three ladies walk away with a medal and bottle of wine and Keith our judge, several pounds heavier!
It really was a super day of fun and music and laughter. Maybe an annual event?
